LaKendra Butler began her career in education in 2005 through Teach For America in Atlanta and went on to serve as a founding teacher, Assistant Principal, and School Leader at KIPP TRUTH Academy in Dallas. She later joined the Tennessee Charter School Center to launch STRIVE Collegiate Academy in Nashville, where she currently leads a 6th–8th grade school focused on preparing students in the McGavock Cluster to be college-ready by the end of middle school. LaKendra brings deep experience in school founding and leadership and is committed to building strong academic foundations and equitable opportunities for all students.
