Soraya Verjee,

Soraya Verjee is the Chief Talent Officer at Collegiate Academies, where she has played a pivotal role in growing the organization from a single school to a seven-site network since joining in 2009. A former math teacher and Teach For America corps member, she now leads efforts that have helped Collegiate retain 100% of its school leaders over the past decade and increase staff diversity to over 50%. Soraya is committed to building school systems that achieve exceptional student outcomes, reflect their communities, and sustain excellence. She holds a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in New Orleans with her husband and children.
