Dr. Susana Campo

Coach

Susana has been a leader in serving students with exceptional needs for over 25 years and truly loves her job. Throughout her career, she has worked as an Outreach Mentor/Counselor for UCLA, After School Program Consultant, Special Education Teacher, Resource Specialist, and Special Education administrator. Her experience has been primarily in secondary schools, supporting inner-city youth. As a former English learner and inner-city student herself, she is passionate about bringing quality education to underserved communities to drive social change. She joined Green Dot in 2006 as a founding teacher at Ánimo Pat Brown, where she collaborated with administrators and teachers to successfully mainstream students with learning disabilities. Before that, Susana taught at Los Angeles High School/LAUSD, where she helped train general education teachers on supporting students with learning disabilities and played an active role in various school committees. She is proud to be a UCLA, LMU, and USC alum, and believes that education has been a key not only in her ability to advocate for others but also in overcoming the immigrant experience, which is not always positive in the LA area. With two master’s degrees and a Doctorate in Education, she remains committed to ensuring high-quality, individualized programs that meet students' needs. Her focus continues to be on leadership development and strengthening educational systems to create lasting impact in urban education.
