Signature Professional Learning
A selection of core practices at the heart of our 15-month fellowship are available to your whole school or system. Choose from three sessions: Inclusive Student Culture, Inclusive Academics, and Radical Problem Solving. Bring them to your team as a 90-minute introduction, a half day (3 hours), or a full day. Each session gives leaders a shared framework, practical tools, and a clear plan to act on, so the learning can shape your team’s work as early as next week. | Session | Description | Participant Quote |
|---|---|---|
| Inclusive Student Culture | Belonging for every student takes more than a curricular SEL program or a family survey. Grounded in developmental brain science, this session introduces AMA’s Inclusive Student Culture framework and tool. Your team will leave with a shared understanding, belief, and strategy for building an intentional, coherent culture where every student belongs. | “This session is so powerful in the way it helps the participant interact and learn about the nuances of rigor though scenarios.” “The stimuli were designed to provoke critical thinking and were rich enough to be interesting and thought-provoking. I'm thinking about the uphold/collapse rigor scenarios and the video of a teacher in action. My groups had rich debates and takeaways from both that will impact our practice.” |
| Inclusive Academics | Rigorous instruction is possible for every learner. Through the lens of coherence, this session builds a shared definition of rigor centered on Tier 1 content and productive struggle. Participants learn to assess curriculum for all students, apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and align their designs to Inclusive Arcs of the Year. | “I really appreciated all the resources that were shared. This particular session felt like a strong balance of tangible practices and holding mindsets. The supplemental resources felt like it allowed me to expand upon some of the ideas even more.“ “I LOVED learning more about the science behind the inclusive school cultures. I'm nerdy and just thought it was so interesting to understand more about the "why" behind some of the differences we see in our students.“ |
| Radical Problem Solving | True coherence starts when a team looks at data and solves problems together. In this session, teams practice a structure that sets fear aside, names the ideal outcome for a problem, and builds collective ownership of getting as close to it as possible. The impact can start as soon as next week. | “I really appreciated the RPS role play! It was very helpful to get to see RPS in action, and get feedback as I am learning the process. I want to bring RPS to our leadership team meeting. I want to focus on the prep beforehand the reciprocity between RPS and coaching, which prevents our current structure from feeling collaborative and meaningful. Transparently, in our current meetings most of our RPS's result in my principal owning the action steps.” |
